Projects: Conway 2025

Another project I have been working on this past week is one for the Conway Chamber of Commerce for their Conway 2025 plan. I was pretty excited about this project because I was at the first breakfast meeting during the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce Business Expo with Steven Trotter when the plan was shared, we were both impressed. If you’re not familiar with what the Conway 2025 plan is all about, I highly recommend checking out the website, http://conway2025.com to download the PDF or read it online.

In a nutshell, the 2025 plan for Conway is a compilation of ideas, or improvements, that were put together by various community members who met and logged countless hours thinking of ways the city of Conway could be improved. These ideas were then organized into 7 different categories.

I built the website based upon the idea that since the plan was more or less a list of goals that the entire community could get behind and support as well as interacting with one another to work toward a common goal.  With this in mind I wanted to make sure that visitors to this website would be able to not only post comments to each other regarding the ideas outlined in each post, but they would also be able to use their Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, or AOL accounts. Below you will find a screenshot of the project…

Since I haven’t unveiled the project to my client yet, I can’t post a live link to it yet, but stay tuned this next week for launch announcements…

Pleth Welcomes Abbi Siler

abbi-silerSo, when I posted a link to my Facebook account where Lanny Heidbreder had joined Pleth, I hinted that I had another big announcement that would be following real soon. Well, here it is.  Abbi Siler, social media evangelist and consultant from Local2Social.com, has joined the Pleth team. Abbi brings w/ her an amazing understanding of social media as well as the ability to conduct intuitive training sessions that yield results.

In addition to providing social media consulting / training, Abbi will also act as an account manager for our Jonesboro office. I have personally known Abbi for a while now and think the world of her and I know that our clients are going to love working with her.  You can follow Abbi on Twitter at @abbisiler. Oh, and if you have been on the fence as to whether social media can help you grow your business, don’t give it a second thought, call Abbi today to schedule an appointment, she can be reached at: 888-276-0848, or by email to: abbi.siler-at-pleth.com.

Projects: Conway Faith Church Redesign

Recently I have been working on a wordpress theme redesign for one of our ministry clients, Conway Faith Church. After getting some input from their senior pastor regarding what he wanted to see incorporated into the new design I set out to design this new layout built upon the Studiopress Genesis Framework.

With just a handful of change requests Pastor Burden signed off on this new design pretty quickly. I should have it ready to install on their existing website the first part of this next week so be sure to check it out at http://conwayfaithchurch.com midweek…

EP:022 – The Cotton Club Podcast

COTTONCLUBLOGOAbout a week ago I blogged about a product called Argyle Social that Keith Crawford turned me onto and I must say I was impressed w/ it the first time I opened it. If you are not familiar w/ Argyle, checkout the post I did a few weeks ago. Well, long story short, I started talking w/ Argyle right after I downloaded the software, they actually called me to see how I liked it, that’s pretty much unprecedented these days to start with, but what I have found is that their company isn’t your typical startup.

Keith and I managed to get Eric Boggs, the CEO of Argyle to agree to be on the show to give us the scoop on Argyle and tell us a little more about their company. The end result was about a half hours worth of awesome conversation about Argyle’s product. I highly recommend checking out this episode if you are a social media consultant or manage social media for your organization.

On a sidenote, we have been extremely busy at Pleth, and Keith has been extremely busy as well but I promise to get The Cotton Club back up and running on a bi-weekly basis again soon. Thanks for your continued support of the show and be sure to drop us your comments and let us know what you would like to hear us discuss, we are always looking for interesting topics.

Pleth Welcomes Lanny Heidbreder

lanny-hThis past weekend we had the entire Pleth crew from Batesville, Conway, and Jonesboro under one roof to just hangout for a few hours and it didn’t take me long to realize that our little company that started w/ 3 equity partners and a handful of regional accounts, has grown into something quite impressive. It was also obvious to me that our team has the right chemistry to do some pretty amazing things in the very near future, and I am not just saying that…

When my partners and I first decided to expand Pleth’s presence in North Eastern Arkansas by adding Steven Trotter and Craig McCoy to our team last year, I don’t think any of us had any idea as to how quickly things would start coming together. The talent level and determination our team has now is absolutely incredible and it’s allowed us to take the next logical step by adding yet another incredibly talented individual to the team, Lanny Heidbreder.

Lanny is an incredibly sharp individual and he brings a pretty wide skillset to the team. We are extremely happy to have him on board. In just the short amount of time that he has been with us he has already collaborated on several amazing client projects.

Snow Day 2011 in Conway…

conway-snowThe 2011 winter season has been one for the record books for central Arkansas. This week we witnessed one of the biggest snow events we have seen in years, I personally have between 6-8 inches of snow in my backyard. Yesterday cabin fever set in and I absolutely had to get out of the house so we bundled up, grabbed the puppy and hit the streets. I carried along my camera so I could snap some shots of the winter wonderland, and I am glad I did.

When we turned onto College Street yesterday we glanced over to the hill behind the Conway Country Club and noticed about 200 people lined up on the side of the large slope sledding down the hill. My father in law, being just as big of a child as I am when it comes to snow couldn’t resist so we headed that direction. I snapped close to 100 photos yesterday. I shared a few on facebook but the rest can be found in a photo gallery I just posted here…

Current Projects: Rosewood Coach

I was contacted by an old friend, Richard Neal of Morrilton, to design and develop a web presence for one of his side ventures. Richard has been in the funeral business since we were in high school and his family operation now has several funeral homes around the state. One aspect of Richard’s funeral home business that has helped him stand apart from the competition is his Rosewood Classic Coach, a custom designed hearse that is quite possibly one of the classiest vehicles I have ever seen.

Given the popularity of his custom creation he decided it was time to start producing these classic coaches for others to enjoy. The goal for Richard’s project was two-fold, we wanted to showcase his creations and allow visitors to his website that might be interested in owning a custom coach of their own to contact him.

Presently the design and layout of the website is complete and we are just awaiting content for the site.  Since the website is still in preview mode I can’t post a link but for the time being I can share a teaser screenshot…

Launched: Greenbrier Massage

I have been working w/ Leah Pozorski, owner of Greenbrier Massage, since the first of the year to redesign her existing website.  We chose WordPress as the backend CMS for the project and the entire website is manageable internally. Some of the goals for the new website included bringing attention to her services such as Swedish & Thai Massage as well as providing prospective new clients with a wealth of information related to massage therapy.

Visitors to the all new Greenbrier Massage website can now learn which massage is right for them, schedule an appointment, find answers to frequently asked questions, get directions, and read Leah’s blog titled ‘Time for Thai’ which should host some very good information related to Thai Massage. You can visit the new Greenbrier Massage website by clicking on the screenshot below…

Wimpy’s Burgers & Fries

wmpclogoThis next month Conway will witness the grand opening of Wimpy’s Burgers and Fries in the Towne Centre Shopping Center across the parking lot from the all-new Cinemark Theatre. Wimpy’s will serve an array of American food ranging from our Signature Wimpy Burger to soft serve ice cream, click here to see full menu.

The Conway location is still in the process of being renovated but everything is coming along right on schedule. This past week some of you might have noticed that the new copper roof went on and the new wood floors are actually being put down today. To create a family friendly, entertaining, atmosphere Wimpy’s will also will have flat screen HDTV’s around the dining area as well as free public WI-FI access. As of right now there are also plans to add outdoor patio seating sometime down the road…

If you want to learn more about Wimpy’s you can visit www.wimpysconway.com, that lists the menu, news and information related to the grand opening, and links to download job applications. Also, to build momentum and boost awareness prior to the grand opening, Wimpy’s is using social media to give away free food to random friends on Facebook and Twitter, so if you haven’t already, I recommend following the links to Facebook and Twitter above and connecting with Wimpy’s.

If you are interested in being a part of the Wimpy’s team, please download the Employment Application below and either return it by mail to: Wimpy’s Burgers & Fries, 28 Sutherland Road, Conway, Arkansas 72032, or you can email it here…  (Download Employment Application: Application for Employment (doc) / Application for Employment (pdf))

Launched: Sonia Bell Insurance

Since the first of the year I have been working w/ Sonia Bell Insurance Agency in Conway to establish a web presence for them. Sonia Bell has been with Nationwide Insurance for 30 years and has been a fixture in the Conway business community for over 26 years. Recently Sonia and her team moved their offices from Locust Street to her new location at 1155 Front Street.

Since we were starting from scratch with this project I worked closely with Sonia and her team to establish a design and sitemap for the project as well as providing photography and social media consulting. The end product for the project is an extremely usable website with lots of useful information pertaining to their products and services.  You may visit the new Sonia Bell Insurance website by clicking on the screenshot below…
