FTC Disclosure

FTCLOGO In 2009, the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) concluded that bloggers, like myself, fall under the umbrella of journalism, so therefore I am required to fully disclose the following information, not that any of this was any big secret in the first place… In the interest of covering all bases, you will find a complete and formal disclosure highlighted below: (This policy is valid from 20 October 2010)

    • Many of the people mentioned or endorsed on my blog are people that I know and have relationships with. The nature of these relationships may vary from close personal friends to clients that have compensated me for work I have performed for them in the past or have my agency, Pleth, LLC on retainer.  Please keep this in mind while reading my blog and know that while I try to remain as transparent as possible, there is always a possibility that there may be some level of bias or favoritism on my part toward these people, products, or services.
    • On occasion I have been approached and asked to endorse products from third parties on this blog.  I have always taken the high road in these situations and never endorsed a product that I would not use myself.  Seldom do these situations arise but when they do I will provide a full disclosure within the body of that endorsement so there is never any doubt.
    • On occasion I might include affiliate links within blog posts that link out to products or services from a third party that are for sale.  These affiliate links allow my clickthroughs to these third party websites to be tracked and reported back to me.  In some instances I receive a percentage of any revenue that might come as a result of my referring link.  These are extremely rare cases but in the future when these do arise, I will provide a full disclosure within the same body of content that these links originate.
    • I would also like to emphasize that the views and opinions expressed by my guests on any of my podcasts are solely those of my guests and do not reflect those of myself, my business interests, employees, partners, or clients.
