Follow Me on Tumblr
Okay so I have had a Tumblr account for a while now and just haven’t really spent a lot of time inside that network but the other night Robert Blake did a great job selling Tumblr at the Central Arkansas Refresh meetup and in the very near future I plan on spending some time getting acquainted with it, even though I don’t see it as an alternative to wordpress but maybe as a place I could frequent from time to time to see what others are doing.
If you are on tumblr, be sure to give me a follow, I have my wordpress blog feed plugged in as well as my Picasa, Flickr, Del.icio.us, and Twitter, so it’s a great way to stay on top of everything I am doing socially (not that anyone would want to do that, but it’s there…) Since I haven’t spent a lot of time in Tumblr I haven’t really connected to a lot of my Facebook or Twitter friends that are using the service.
Maybe one of these days I can get around to changing the theme...
Robert Blake on Tumblr
We had another great Central Arkansas Refresh meeting this month. If you were unable to attend Rob McBryde was nice enough to record the event for us and post it on Vimeo. Robert Blake did a great job on his talk about Tumblr. He is one of a hand few of people I know who have spent a lot of time inside that network / blogging platform and did a great job sharing it w/ the rest of us.
Next month Rob McBryde is going to speak on Joomla, so be sure to make plans now to attend. Our meetings are on the last Tuesday of each month and are open to anyone interested. A topic that Bryan Jones suggested this past meeting for a future talk was User Experience, and I have to agree that this would be an awesome topic for us to discuss. If anyone is interested, please feel free to speak up. We also have had some interest from Collabpad (the company that promotes MODx open-sourced PHP Framework about sending a representative to one of our meetings to showcase their CMS.

Central Arkansas Refresh – Tuesday, August 25th
We are gearing up for another Central Arkansas Refresh meeting this month! This month Robert Blake is going to speak on Tumblr. If you aren’t familiar w/ Tumblr, it lets you effortlessly share anything. Post text, photos, quotes, links, music, and videos, from your browser, phone, desktop, email, or wherever you happen to be. You can customize everything, from colors, to your theme’s HTML.
This should be a great meeting. In addition to Robert’s talk on Tumblr, we are also going to have the usual swag and software giveaways as well as our first shipment from O’Reilly of books that we requested. So, if you requested a book to review, be sure to be in attendance to pick that up.
The meeting starts at 6:30 and will be in the basement of the Flying Saucer. Everyone is Welcome! Bring a friend! If you are in our facebook group, be sure to RSVP so we can get an idea on headcount. If you need directions, here’s the map:
